Miroslav Bílek: bass guitar, singer


At the age of 15 I learned to play the guitar myself. I started with simple songs played while enjoying a barbecue fire, then I tried rock songs. When I was 20-ish, I and my friends put together our first band. Except from the guitar I also liked rhythm instruments, that is why I chose the position of a bass  guitar player and I remained on this position in all other bands.

I listened to rock and metal music from the age of 10. My favourtite bands were Led Zeppelin, Scorpions, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Yes, and Czech bands called Pražský výběr, Blue Effect, Progres 2, Synkopy. Last years I listen to many music styles, I find my inspiration in jazzrock, progressive rock, metal, funk rock and I admire a bass player Marcus Miller.

My first band even did not have a name J, the other ones were called Minimum, Rain, Decameron, and at the same time as I have been playing with Šašci v manéži I also play with the band Joe Satriani Tribute Band Brno.
